Caitlin is a birth educator and doula at Wild Womb Birth Services. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and two boys. She was born at home in the ‘80s, and grew up with a reverence for the natural process of birth. After being pushed into a cesarean section when her first baby presented breech during labor, she received a “special scar” and was told she could never labor again. This led her down the rabbit hole of childbirth education and autonomy, where she found Indie Birth. Caitlin felt called into birth work with the hope that she might help others realize the power they have to make their own choices in pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond. After years of research on all things birth (especially VBAC, breech birth, and informed choice in childbirth), and not without a few bumps in the road, she had an empowering home birth (HBAC) with her second child, with the scar that she could “never labor” on.

She completed doula training through Indie Birth’s “Birth Warrior Project” in February 2020, just before her HBAC baby’s first birthday. Caitlin supports all spectrums of a person’s childbearing experience, from fertility and conception, pregnancy, loss/termination, to childbirth, postpartum and beyond. She offers childbirth education and doula support either virtually, or in-person in the Portland, Oregon area. When she’s not empowering others in birth, Caitlin enjoys spending time outside with her family and friends, gardening, good food and wine, and enjoying life. Habla Español. Elle parle Français.
